This is a thread to discuss the convenience of a permission license agreement for SVG files shared in the UX/UI Design forum. Following the suggestion of @Kunda1 in this thread https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 49#p314655 No sure if it is needed.
Fact: the UX/UI Design forum gather many graphic design files (SVG icons, logos) shared by creators as response of many requests from FreeCAD community members.
Question: Is it necessary to state the permission by the author of an SVG file (shared in the forum) to use this one in FreeCAD software or any other external WB? For each time. I mean, to write it in the forum threads.
Option: If it is needed. What about to write a locked post with a simple permission license agreement of free use, for all SVG files posted by creators in the UX/UI Design forum, that are shared in threads as requests of designs for Icons or logos.
This discussion only apply for SVG files published in UX/UI forum.

Re: Permission agreement for UX/UI Design forum's SVG files
We could maybe (this also applies to other questions discussed on this forum earlier) add a kind of "agreement" that is valid forum-wide, that everything that is posted on the forum is CC-licensed.
That could maybe, however, prevent things like posting screenshots of commercial applications, not sure about that...

Re: Permission agreement for UX/UI Design forum's SVG files
You just need to be specific in the agreement redaction: "This agreement applies only for SVG files published as direct requests for FreeCAD Community members in the UX/UI forum." Or something like that. It does not need to involve all images or pictures uploaded here...

Where are people going to read this? In the subforum description? That may not be enough.

It can be visible or in a link. Or in a locked post at the top of the list... In fact, people do not need to read it. It is like Terms of service.
