Basic question to data storage

Post by Sidemountyucatan »

Hi all,

can anybody tell me where Freecad / CFDOF saves the calculated data of a simulation ? (p-filed, U-field etc.)

I tried to figure it out from the messages in the solver window but not with the most success. In my opinion it
has to be somehwere under C./.../bluecfd.../openfoam .X..../, but not sure where to search for explicitely.

Thx

Not sure this is the right answer specifically regarding CfdOF, but on Windows, user folder is under "%APPDATA%", in the "Roaming" or "AppData" folder IIRC. ;)

If you click the "Edit" button in the Solver task panel, it will open file manager in this location.

On a case by case basis, you can set this using the "Output Path" property of the Analysis object. If that is blank, it defaults to the path set in the Preferences (Edit | Preferences | CFD). If that is blank, it defaults to the system temporary directory.
