Module "Sheet Metal V0.2.32" & holes with chamfer

Post by FuBe » Sun Feb 09, 2020 1:22 am

I'm useing the sheet metal module to create simple sheet metal parts.
It works fine for the simple parts I draw.

I have one question.
Is it possible to deactivate / ignore countersunk holes during the flattening of the part?

I want to draw a part with several bends and it would be nice to put the champfers bevore the part gets flattened to reduce the risk of machining the wrong side.
I know, I'm spoiled from using expensive tools like NX, but it would be nice if there is a simle way to do this with FreeCad too.

Hi
To unfold befor the cylindrical holes : Hide the last operation (hit space bar) and show the last op befor to drill (hit space bar again) , then unfold
But I don't understang your 2cd part of the question (chanfer befor flatering :?: )

Sorry that my answer is that late.
(I had some PC-problems.)

I don't knew what I'm doing wrong.
If I select the chamfer of the holes and hit space, the whole part get disabled / hidden.

To the second part:
I'm planing to build a sheet metal part with many chamfered holes.
Before I take this part to the bending-press I've to cut the champfers on the drill press.
I read through the forum and most people sugested not to use chamfers to the verry end or don't use chamfers at all.

But because there will be that manny different holes, I'd like to have all chamfers during the construction process of the part.
It would be even better if there is a way to tell the flattening tool to transferes the chamfer to the flattened part.

It 's possible , drill the hole on the bendet part , unbend it and do the chanfers on the flated plate
You can't flated the part whit chanfers

Thanks for your help.

I thought there might be a other way to solve the problem.
