Hello,
I'm trying to make a longworth chuck which has several curved slots in it.
I set my stock depth to 16.5mm and the depth of the pocket to be 16.0mm I then selected the bottom of each slot to apply a path pocket, so far that all works well, but I found the depth of cut was less than expected and when I checked the code, I found that for some reason, the op final depth is constantly staying at 13.5mm and that's all it will cut to.
I have not used the path tool for a while, but I seem to remember being able to set my own depth, but nothing I try will override this setting. Maybe I'm missing something? but I don't understand where the 13.5mm op final depth comes from and why I cannot override it?
BTW the cutting tool height is 20mm
any help appreciated
Eric

Re: issue with opfinaldepth (I think)
Hi.
I do not know the root cause but here is a workaround. Change the "Use Outline" property to true. Then the generated toolpath goes down to Z=-16.
HTH.
Cheers,
Mateusz

Many thanks f3nix, that has done the trick, now I can get on with the job, would love to understand all this a bit better.

Hi.
There is something strange with your model. Sketch001 is mapped +2,5mm higher from the top. That is why the pocket depth seems to be 13,5.
See screenshot.
Cheers,
Mateusz

Re: issue with opfinaldepth (I think)
If you hover over the pocket you see in the status bar the coordinates of the point where the mouse is over. It shows indeed that the pockets end at 13.5 mm.
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.
Re: issue with opfinaldepth (I think)
Many thanks everyone, I see that the error was mine, I originally wanted to use 19mm stock and reversed the parameter and re-positioned sketch01 z axis to the 19mm face, but then found I could only easily get 16mm stock (this is Australia after all), but forgot to reposition sketch01 z axis to suit... my bad.
thanks again
