Returning to start point at end of operation.

Here's the place for discussion related to CAM/CNC and the development of the Path module.

Returning to start point at end of operation.

Post by m12lrpv » Tue Mar 24, 2020 1:15 am

I have an operation which I want to perform multiple times like a production line.

Basically... Insert the stock in it's jig -> perform the cut/operation -> remove the finished piece -> insert the next piece of stock into it's jig -> repeat the cut/operation and so on...

To do this though it's necessary to have the cutter return to the origin/start point at the end of the operation. At the moment it just moves up and clear of the last cut and stops, leaving me to reposition the cutter to begin for each operation.

Is there a setting to make path add the g-code to return to the origin/start point of the operation upon completion of the operation?

I'm on latest released version 0.19 (not a pre release) but i'm away from the freecad install so cannot post the version info.

Add a custom operation with the gcode commands to return to the desired location
