Hello,
I am trying to assess the likely distortion of a structure. I have successfully completed the process with a simple tube. However, keeping getting an error when I attempt to simulate a more complex structure.
I suspect my problem may relate to mesh cell sizing, I have tried varying various meshing parameters without any luck. However, I am not sure that I fully understand the intended effect of the parameters I'm varying!
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I don't have checked in detail...
What i can see so fast is this You have a lot of intersections. Don't know if it is just graphical... (i prefer to use part as less as possible) at least i think you have to fix that all flat... beams / ... whatever it is called.

Thank you for your replies. Sorry for taking so long to respond.
I have installed the latest version of FreeCAD from: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/rele ... g/0.19_pre
Simulating the original structure caused FreeCAD to crash.
I have redrawn the structure. During the simulation it finishes with an error as shown.
With regards "rough finishes" to the structure. I have to admit I am much more experienced using SolidWorks as a CAD tool. I am sure that I am drawing the FreeCAD part incorrectly - sorry about that. However, what I have done is tried to ensure that all of the elements of the part intersect and then Fuse the elements. On the assumption that FreeCAD would take that as a solid part.
Any thoughts or guidance would be much appreciated.
