Re: wrong axis moving helix into body
I succeeded in importing the helix horizontally as a shapebinder into the body. I succeeded as well to use it as path for a sweep. However, the sweep did not work, perhaps you have more luck following this idea.
And I would like to see the result.

Re: wrong axis moving helix into body
What I had tested and could not get working was the additive pipe.
I can open your file. When I double click the subtractive pipe FreeCAD crashes. When I delete and recreate the sweep the triangle is in the middle of the cylinder and I get a fancy spiral. I will update to the most recent version and retry.

Re: wrong axis moving helix into body
Similar situation with the current Ubuntu:
Crash when double clicking the subtractive pipe.
When I delete the sweep the swept triangle is in the middle: When I recreate the sweep, the triangle jumps to the correct position and I can create the sweep like yours.
When I reopen the sweep the triangle is in the middle again and stays there after ok. The result is this:
I cannot paste my FreeCAD info, it makes my browser hang, perhaps it is a problem with my new virtual machine and its clipboard copy function, but my version is 0.17.12643
