That would be fine.

I see now that I forgot to add also the ISO regular M1.0 and M1.2 sizes. (Defined in the norms and you can buy these screws - we use M1.0 screws in some of our products at work.)
I also see that I have a copy/paste error in the clearance size for M1.0 -> I'll fix the PR this evening.

Metric coarse threads are divided into 3 series/rows. One should use a thread from series 1 if possible.
PartDesign Hole feature has hardcoded series 1 threads¹ (except of M1 and M1.2 which are missing and M3.5, M22, M27 and M68 which are in series 2). See:

Yes, see my last post. I'll add them with an improved PR.

Thanks for the link, so also M9, M11 and M18 are missing. I checked and of course there are such screws on the market.

Does it matter if they are on the marked or custom made?
If they exist in the norm add them to the tool. I expect that checking if there is a reseller it takes more time than just add it.

You are right, I added them now all in the updated PR: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/4058

In this PR I also fixed a further bug with the tapered angle settings.

I hope I'm sending this to the right place. I thought about creating a new thread, but it seems to me that this fits perfectly here, and starting a new thread would pollute the forum with redundant threads

I feel that you guys should add standards for holes for cylindrical dowel pins to the hole dialog. Dowel pins are used to precisely join mechanical parts, and are standardized in various places (Wikipedia reference).

I don't have access to the actual standards, but I have access to dowel pin part catalogs (like the one from this manufacturer, document being the Katalog Verbindungstechnik (PDF) (German))

Some standard for dowel pins (with equivalent ISO standards to the DIN ones):
  • DIN 7 (ISO 2338)
  • DIN 7979/D (ISO 8735-A)
  • DIN 7979/C (ISO 8733)
  • DIN 6325 (ISO 8734-A)
There are other standards, and other people might have different needs, so other standards might also deserve inclusion.

Valid request but not an easy task. For example we have in a product pins according to the norm DIN 7 and I found myself lost in where to get a normed hole size. I only found non-normed hole sizes people use for aluminum. However, I had a plastic part and had to find out the optimal size ion my own.

So if you could deliver a norm in which hole sizes for dowels and pins are normed, I can have a look if I can add this feature.

Besides pins and dowels, there are also spring pins: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spring_pin that need holes. But also for them I don#t find with a quick search a norm that defines the hole diameters.

Seema that some websites have the specs for slotted spring pins per ASME norms.

https://www.spirol.com/company/products ... .php?ID=52

This page has direct links to the specs for metric and imperial.

Does that help?

Last i checked dowel pin holes are yet another animal, our design team takes the specs of the pins as bought, then they spec the hole according to the fit.
I believe that's an expensive way to do things...but what do I know.

I only get an empty page. However, what counts are norms for the holes, not for the springs and pins.
