I hope I'm sending this to the right place. I thought about creating a new thread, but it seems to me that this fits perfectly here, and starting a new thread would pollute the forum with redundant threads
I feel that you guys should add standards for holes for cylindrical dowel pins to the hole dialog. Dowel pins are used to precisely join mechanical parts, and are standardized in various places (
Wikipedia reference).
I don't have access to the actual standards, but I have access to dowel pin part catalogs (like the one
from this manufacturer, document being the
Katalog Verbindungstechnik (PDF) (German))
Some standard for dowel pins (with equivalent ISO standards to the DIN ones):
- DIN 7 (ISO 2338)
- DIN 7979/D (ISO 8735-A)
- DIN 7979/C (ISO 8733)
- DIN 6325 (ISO 8734-A)
There are other standards, and other people might have different needs, so other standards might also deserve inclusion.
