Mech Titan for WH40K.
Hello there FreeCAD Community!
Before I get onto it Id like to say thank you to all the developers that have made FreeCAD possible and the community for the invaluable help posts that have answered most of my questions on using FreeCAD over the past month or so.
I thought its time to share my progress on using FreeCAD and what ive made so far. I started off with the part design workbench tutorials about 5-6 weeks ago then made a couple simple objects of my own for practice now I'm using this as an exercise on learning how to use FreeCAD to make more complex parts to print on a 3D printer. I feel i have taken to FreeCAD quite well seeing as I have next to no experience with 3D modeling before.
To the titan!
I decided to make this titan designed off an old model that Games Workshop no longer produce. it has been designed so far using photos off the web and also adding my own extra details to the design. So far i have been working on this for around 3 weeks a couple hours a day and have now 3D printed this first part of my design. Ill add pictures. I've only completed the foot so far and am now part way through the leg. I'm trying to design the model to be as articulated as possible for final posing purposes and also the rule of cool .
I'll try to keep this updated as I go!
Questions and comments are welcome!
Anyways, thanks again! I hope you Like it.

Re: Mech Titan for WH40K.
part 2
Hello again,
Next update on the titan build. I have finished the legs and printed a couple pieces for testing movement and function of the pistons. Everything seems to be going well so far and I am learning new ways to do things all the time. Could have done with knowing what I know now for the first part of the project but hey, its all fun learning.
I'm now going to split the parts into smaller pieces from now on to save on computing power and help me to edit more complicated parts without breaking the model and combine or split later into parts for 3D printing purposes.

Re: Mech Titan for WH40K.
Back again with another update!
The pelvis/hips part is now complete and i have printed off a mirrored set of the leg for the other side. The lower half is almost complete, I just have a couple pistons to design for the ankles and a couple armor plates for the leg and pelvis.
I started on the top half of the model but had to start again as the part i had created kept breaking and doing weird things when added something to an older sketch. It didn't take too long to get back where I was and found some simpler ways to get there with less steps than before and created a more stable model.
The top half is not coming out as faithful to the original as i intended originally but i like the way it is going it shouldn't be too far away anyhow.
Heres some more screenshots for you and the printed model so far
See you next time!

This plastic looks like one of those microscopic pictures... nice effect

@ Gorkamork
Nice work!
How long did you print on each part?
Which filament did you use?

Re: Mech Titan for WH40K.
Thank you kisolre
Thanks again @RedBaron
The prints took between 3 and 7 hours depending on the part. I printed multiple parts in one go to save time were I could.
They are printed on an SLA printer with resin. Nova3d Elfin2 printer with novastan water washable resin to be exact.
I have since split some of the parts for better printing results because the supports printed with the lower part of the leg damaged the surface detail. See pic below. The ones I have printed and fit together so far are my prototype pieces for the final print and build.
Re: Mech Titan for WH40K.
I did not realize that this is resin at first and also nothing gives actual sense of perspective. Probably the grid in the first screenshot and the ruler in third picture. Those are very fine details. Please make a picture with some common object in vicinity (hand, pencil, ...).
