Make simple building diagram drawing

HELLO Guys. Nube here, but experienced otherwise. I need to make simple drawings, like a rectangle with smaller rectangles and/or squares inside of it. Also need to write the name of the internal squares/rectangles. Imagine a rectangular top view of a main building with several rooms in it that are also rectangular in different parts of the main building and you should get the idea. Thanks, Jim

You may have a look at the Arch workbench, but as simple as you describe your project, a pure 2D program would do.
FreeCAD can also do 2D: You can use Sketcher workbench to create sketches controlled by geometric and dimensional constraints and you can use Draft workbench, where you rather use coordinates you know and various snapping options.

I used Sketcher WB to create the outline. I didn't fully constrain the sketch for expediency (you'll notice the "building" is in mm)

Next I used the TechDraw WB to make a projection of the Sketch.
Then I added some Annotations to the TechDraw page.
