Pattern

Post by Petrus » Wed Oct 21, 2020 5:56 pm

Hi

I have found the following Video, but I cannot seem to get it right to create a pattern similar to this. Maybe it is because I don't understand french.

Can anybody maybe help or guide me how to do the pattern on the side? I need to create something similar with a model I am busy with.

Thank you

Create an helix section which covers the outer face of the cylinder

Create a datum plane parallel to the XY plane and sketch a triangle in it that is partly inside the cylinder

Sweep the triangle sketch along the helix section and remove it from the body (sweep and remove, i.e subtractive sweep)

multiTransform that feature using:
1/ a mirror transform so that you have knurling in both directions
2/ a polar transform to replicate the feature around the cylinder.
