Hi,
I have a problem with a contact spring. I used WireDraft in the Draft WB to draw the spring. The spring consist of a wire of 0.6 mm diameter. How to draw the radius on the right side (see 2D pic)? Or is there a better approach?
Regards

Re: Drawing a contact spring
- Switch to Sketcher workbench and create a sketch with a circle in the center.
- switch to Part workbench
- select the sketch
- menu->Part->Attachment, select the line end with AttachmentMode=NormalToEdge and confirm
- create a sweep with the sketch as section and the wire as path; doubleclick on a segment of the wire selects it all
- in the properties of the sweep change TransitionMode to RoundCorner

Re: Drawing a contact spring
Here it is, I did it my way, not always orthodox say my opponents
I did 2 sketches one for each plane, the 1st in the XY horizontal plane, made the 1st loop
make the 2nd in XZ 8mm above zero and the 2nd loop using the end of the 1st as a starting face for the 2nd, to have a perfect match
I add spokes to the angles as in real life: we do not bend a spring wire at a sharp angle

Re: Drawing a contact spring
yous should add fillets to the wire (downgrade the wire for that and re-upgrade it)
add a sketch for diameter, and use the sweep of Part wb.

Re: Drawing a contact spring
sharp bends - the original spring ist sharp bended
@papyblaise
I could easy understand your aproach. My spring looks as expected.
