TechDraw Line Width change without effect

Post by chaen »

Hi,

I've spent a fair amount of time scratching my head, trying to export PDF from TechDraw where I can actually see something.
The line thickness of the views is extremely small, and regardless of the Line width parameter I set in the combo view, it does not change, neither in the TechDraw window, nor in the exported PDF. Changing the LineGroup is taken into account for newly created view, but the look is still the same.

Changing the Line width of a dimension works fine though.

Surprisingly, the exports I did about 3 weeks ago were perfect without having to fiddle with Line thickness, however I went through an OS and FreeCAD upgrade in between.
I've attached an example of what I generate today, as opposed to what was generated 3 weeks ago

System and details versions are bellow: (it used to be Fedora 32 and FreeCad 0.18, but I can't remember the exact versions, sorry)

Thanks a lot for the help !

You can try to reset the configuration with the button in the preferences. Another possibility is to delete your config files or to move them in case you want to restore them.

The FreeCAD file might give more insights than the pdf.

Thanks for taking the time to answer.
I've removed the config files and reset them, but no change.
I've just created a dummy file showing the problem. You will notice that the line width of the Dimension is respected, while the one for the view does not change, despite being at a ridiculous value.

I've also tried to change the line width in the part design/sketch to see if it had an influence on the Techdraw, but it doesn't.

Thanks
Chris

You should look at the View tab in the Property_editor. Line Width = 17.7 mm.

Hi @Roy_043,

thanks for your answer.

This is the value I changed and played with, but it does not actually change the line width on the TechDraw :(

Sorry, forgot to mention you need to use Std_Refresh to update.

Unfortunately, if I just change the value, the Refresh button is greyed out. I tried marking the view for recompute and then refresh, but still, no changes

In case it is an OpenGL issue: Did you try to export as PDF? How does the attached file looks like? I changed lineWidth to 1mm.

I tried with your file FCstd file and the one I created but the exported PDF is the same. And it remains the same no matter the value of Line Width for the view. See screenshot

Thank you all for your help
