Blue on Black

Post by grooveman » Wed Oct 30, 2019 4:39 pm

Hi.

Is there any way to change the color of the link that indicates how many unconstrained points there are on the Tasks panel?

To mitigate eye strain (and headaches) I use the Breeze Dark theme in KDE Plasma. It works great in all respects -- except this one. I've looked through all the options in FreeCAD under preferences, and I removed dark blue from everything -- but this still comes up dark blue, and it is impossible for me to read it.

Is there any way to change the color of this link?

Thanks.

It's not in Preferencs->Sketcher->Colors, so I'm afraid you cannot change it.

Hmm... That is truly a bummer.

What is the appropriate channel to submit a feature request like this?

OK, it looks I could accomplish this myself if I create my own qt style sheet. I have tried playing with this, but I do not know the element name I'm trying to manipulate...

in CSS, it is "a". But I've tried that, and I've tried using the !Important directive... it doesn't seem to help. I've also tried using qpallate and some other general qt-specific directives I've found via internet searches. There must be a specific element name, or class that I need to use that is peculiar to FreeCAD. Does anyone know what it would be?

Thanks.

Hi,

I'm the custom FreeCAD stylesheets developer, try them out in Preferences/General.
You can also open the .qss files and investigate. You will see Qt style language is very similar to CSS, but, I advice you, sometimes it's hard to know how an specific element it been coded has I don't know how to identify it in the C++ code... Very commonly the programmer has no used a "semantically" correct element...

I hope it helps you
Cheers

Hi Pabologil,

Thanks for the post. The problem is, that in all the available style sheets, that link is always blue. Across the board, no one ever seems to address that.... so I have no way of knowing what the element is without picking apart the C++ code (and I'm not a programmer). I was hoping someone out there would know... I have a fairly decent grasp on style sheets in web design, so I'm sure I could probably google my way through the rest... I just don't have anything to go on.

It has to be hard coded because Qt doesn't have a hyperlink element so, we are stuck in the same point. We would need a programmer to locate the code of this "link" and tell us how to make it styleable...
