GUI Missaligned

Post by outchips » Thu Dec 26, 2019 8:49 pm

Since the introduction of verision of Freecad 0.18 I had issues with the alignment of the GUI. I have search the forum to see if someone else had a similar issue, but cannot find someone that have the same issue. Is there an easy fix, some configuration that might help me?

When starting FreeCAD everything is normal:

However when opening a new or existing file, all the menus, icons and text is missaligned:

Qt version: 5.6.2

What exactly is your problem? I don't see what your specific problem is. Explain with detail.

You probably mean the display of the top toolbar at the top of the window. Can you please retry with the latest 0.19?

I have downloaded 0.19, however the issue remains. Any other suggestions?

In the screenshot I have circled the points that is not aligned. The top menu is not visible as well as half the first row of icons, the first characters in the text to the left is missing, and finally the bottom tabs and windows is truncated below the text.

I would guess it's something between Qt and the graphics card or its driver. But you can at least try to reset the configuration with the button in the preferences. Another possibility is to delete your config files or to move them in case you want to restore them.

Thank you for the suggestion, however it did not work.
I am curious, if this is a QT5/Driver issues wouldn't the start page as well showing the same alignment? As you can se starting FreeCAD renders a normal page. (This is 0.19, after deleting the config file as you suggested)

I can change pathbench, enter any menu and it is working. Here I have entered the path_workbench

It is when I press the "Create new" - "Skapa ny" that the screen changes completely.

Can you give a try to latest 0.19 (yours is quite old) ?
It is now built with Qt 5.12 that solves a lot of these problems. ;)

To be honest the latest PRE version is even more unstable.
The first observation when starting up 019.19066 is that the start pop-up screen is more than double the normal size, the render of the first page lack the top menu.

Open a new document totally mess upp the screen. One of the more intresting features is that you open a meny half way down on the next row. You can see the placement of the menu in the screenshot.
