Re: FreeCad 0.19, where to download?
What is the difference between Conda and LP?
Re: FreeCad 0.19, where to download?
NOTE: The Conda Win based build are packaged from here: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-AppImage
They should be the Windows equivalent of the Conda based .AppImage and .dmg
FreeCADLibs_12.1.6_x64_VC15.7z is not required to run the binaries provided here. It is a package that provides all necessary dependencies to compile FreeCAD with VS2015/17/19 (both release and debug mode). The package is provided courtesy of FreeCAD community member apeltauer.
The LP based Win build uses this library.

Re: FreeCad 0.19, where to download?
Shouldn't any actual differences be also mentioned? Like that Conda build contains now the Assembly3 and Glider WB? And that Conda is OCCT 7.4.0 and LP is OCCT 7.3.0?

Looo said to remove these for the release.

Re: FreeCad 0.19, where to download?
The library version differences are much greater than just OCCT . Conda is maintained by a community and package upgrades are continuous. At the moment the Conda dependencies lead the LP versions. But @apeltauer is working on a new Libpack that will leap frog many packages. I have been looking for a way to document the used dependencies for both, it's like About FreeCAD on steroids. I haven't found a good way to automate this.
As far as asm3, the reason for this is we have a custom built solvespace that make installation possible.
Glider is a packaging exercise/experiment because of it's complicated dependency structure.
Neither will be included in an official stable release.
I guess the answer is the Conda version and LP version use the same FreeCAD source, for a given version, but get all the dependencies from a different "package manager"

Basically yes. If a support library has a bug one might work better for you than the other. I plan to build the 0.19 stable release (when it happens) with the Conda dependencies.Accessdenied wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 10:41 am Ok, then no matter what version to use? No advantages in one of them for simple user?

Re: FreeCad 0.19, where to download?
Hello,
I use FreeCAD in windows with the LP version and Link-Asm3 version. I update them periodically, I do manual installations, that is, I only download the binaries.
After a month without using Feecad, the first thing I did was update and this time I wanted to try Conda version. What a surprise when I saw Assembly 3, I thought: how fast it was this last month!!! , everything is already merged ...
I was also surprised by that other Glider workbench. So looking for information I got here and after reading this interesting thread everything was clear to me.
I used the LP version because it took less time to load, once started when changing workbenchs it was also faster, and it seemed to me that in general it was more fluid. Today, after trying a bit, this is still my feeling.

Re: FreeCad 0.19, where to download?
I am unable to find the 19.1 release.
I can find the pre releases at https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/rele ... g/0.19_pre and there are list of links to download. I am not sure that one of these is not 19.1 but I find no information
If I got to this page https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/releases/tag/0.19.1 It talks of the release but it is not there.
At this point I am not sure 19.1 is actually released so I thought I would ask here.
Thanks, Great program. I don't know how you folks manage to do it.
