Appimage and Exporting to Asymptote code.

Post by jruiz » Wed Sep 09, 2020 2:43 pm

Good morning.
Approximately a month ago wmayer implemented a way of
exporting files from FreeCAD to Asymptote code:
Feature Request: 3D PDF Exporting to Asymptote format.
Re: Feature Request: 3D PDF Exporting to Asymptote format.

I would want to know if the maintainer of the Appimage of the development version of FreeCAD would know about a possible date for this feature to be included in the binary of FreeCAD.
Regards

Dude. You have to chill. AppImages (and Conda distributions for Windows and MacOS) are generated once every week or so. Patience?

Ok. Thank you.
Well, I was just wondering, did not want to press in any way. I update the FreeCAD AppImage every day for GNU/Linux and wanted to know about it. By now i use a version of FreeCAD compiled at home for exporting to Asymptote code.
Thanks again.

There is actually a problem with the Conda distributions at the moment.
Travis-CI where we package the builds is picking up an older conda build and packaging that. I haven't been able to figure out why yet.

Just an aside, perhaps we can find a way to trigger daily appimage builds. Maybe not offer them on github but somewhere else?

there is a problem with ifcopenshell which needs to be updated to icu67:
https://github.com/conda-forge/ifcopens ... ck/pull/10

the freecad build uses icu67 already:
https://dev.azure.com/sppedflyer/feedst ... 1642&l=329

For now I simple removed ifcopenshell frm the appimage. But we should work on getting ifcopenshell updated.

Btw.: I don't think ifcopenshell must depend directly on icu. I will try to fix this.

What is even icu? I never saw it mentioned anywhere in the instructions to compile IfcOpenShell or FreeCAD for that matter.

icu was a problematic library in the times where conda had no proper pinning/migration system. I guess that's why I added it to the dependencies.

boost depends on icu.

Somewhat interesting, after

Code: Select all

conda create -n freecad-dev333 -c freecad/label/dev freecad
I got the latest freecad

Code: Select all

conda install ifcopenshell
Wants to revert to;

Code: Select all

freecad-0.19.alpha2 | py38hdf78897_0
Which is different than what Travis got.
The conda dependency solver is quite amazing that it got the latest that satisfied the dependencies.
