Easy Tutorial
Hi, I am new to Freecad 0.18 or any CAD program, so can someone suggest a couple of easy Tutorials for an absolute beginner, I have tried several but I never get very far and I have tried at least 6 times on several, so please suggest some that actually work so I will know if it is me or the Tutorial, any help appreciated, Regards DM
Re: Easy Tutorial
Welcome!
You should probably upgrade to 0.19
As for a tutorial, you could try my intro level linked in the signature below.

>Hi, I am new to Freecad 0.18 or any CAD program....
Welcome, and same with me. Started 10 days ago. Massive steep learning curve having come from 2D CorelDraw and a 3D ship design software, HullForm. I went to 0.19 and also installed GraphViz 2.38, newer versions don't seem to work. GV should be useful in analysing design steps, but still getting to grips with it.
Wasted quite a few hours/couple of days trawling round all the 3D Free CAD programmes, plus a few paid ones, to find something that was utterly intuitive. eMachineShopCAD, recommended at All3DP.com, was free and very simple/intuitive but strictly controlled by the company, so utterly useless, unless you want them to machine/print your items.
So decided to persevere with FC. And help here has been brilliant. Perhaps one day, highly unlikely, I'll be able to do the same.
The written tutorials suggested are good. And RTFM fully first, which I didn't and I am now reading every word.
My key take away point is that pad produces a 3D item and pocket etc takes material away.
I avoid YouTube like the plague. Seems to give too many presenters the excuse just to umm, err, waffle and verbal diarrhoea when the same info could be written in a few sentences. And requires frequent pausing. So I have a written tutorial on tablet next to me to follow while attempting on same on PC.
There are some excellent training sequences in a topic where I asked for assistance - https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=52206
Good luck.

Re: Easy Tutorial
There are two Grids. The draft grid is configured in Preferences->Draft->Grid. The sketcher grid is configured in the sketcher panel.
