FreeCAD @CERN

Post by easyw-fc »

Hi, I was curious to find if FreeCAD could be in use by CERN and indeed I found some old student projects:

1) 3D Printing the ATLAS’Barrel Toroid @ CERN Large Hadron Collider (Summer Student Programme 2016)

and the 3D FreeCAD model (designed using FreeCAD, roughly in a scale 1:100 to the real detector)

2) F-watch @CERN (a fully open electronic watch project featuring an integrated GPS receiver)

I forgot to add that the watch was not a simple project, but has been realized :D
Some nice mechanical tips at the slides from Fosdem 2015
